Years before he showed viewers his lethal swing on AMC's The Walking Dead, Jeffrey Dean Morgan was fighting demonic forces on Supernatural as John Winchester, the father of Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles), a role that he will reprise for the series' 300th episode.

According to multiple sources, including Deadline, Morgan will return as John Winchester this season (the show's 14th season overall) on Supernatural in an episode titled "Lebanon." Directed by Robert Singer from a script by Andrew Dabb and Meredith Glynn, "Lebanon" will air on The CW on February 7th, 2019, so viewers won't have to wait much longer to see the return of John Winchester.

Morgan last played John Winchester in the 2008 episode "Long Distance Call," and he appeared as the character in 2007's "All Hell Breaks Loose: Part 2."

In a statement via Deadline, executive producer Andrew Dabb hinted that Morgan won't be the only familiar face returning to the series:

“We’re incredibly excited to have Jeffrey back for this milestone episode, and think fans will love what we have planned for his character… and a few other surprise guest stars.”

It looks like the 300th episode of Supernatural will be quite the celebration, and we'll be sure to keep Daily Dead readers updated on further announcements.

In the meantime, Jeffrey Dean Morgan shared his excitement by posting a photo of what looks like the 300th episode's script on Twitter.
