All manner of horrors will grace the big screen once again this October in Colorado's annual Telluride Horror Show. The first wave of films have been announced for the festival, including Mayhem, The Endless, Victor Crowley, Creep 2, and many more:

Press Release: TELLURIDE, CO - SEPTEMBER 7th, 2017: The first wave of films has been announced for the 2017 Telluride Horror Show, which will take place October 13-15th in picturesque Telluride, Colorado (elevation 8,750 ft.).

Festival attendees will catch the U.S. Premiere of CREEP 2 before it is released digitally worldwide by The Orchard on October 24th. The film is directed by Patrick Brice (CREEP) and features Mark Duplass, who also starred in the first film - a 2014 Telluride Horror Show Official Selection.

Other anticipated films include the Colorado Premieres of JUNGLE, directed by Greg McLean (THE BELKO EXPERIMENT) and starring Daniel Radcliffe, ahead of its October 20th release date, as well as VICTOR CROWLEY (directed by Adam Green), MAYHEM (directed by Joe Lynch), and THE ENDLESS (directed by Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead).

Please read on for a letter from festival director Ted Wilson, as well as a full breakdown of the first wave.

From Festival Director, Ted Wilson:

"For dedicated genre fans, the first wave of films for the 2017 Telluride Horror Show reads like a list of old friends. Featuring the latest films from known directors - Greg McLean's JUNGLE, Adam Green's VICTOR CROWLEY, Joe Lynch's MAYHEM, Ryuhei Kitamura's DOWNRANGE, and Alexandre O. Philippe's 78/52 - and the latest from festival alumni - Patrick Brice's CREEP 2, Can Evrenol's HOUSEWIFE and Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead's THE ENDLESS - it's a list we hope strikes excitement (and a little fear) into the hearts of our attendees. With the addition of the Palm Theatre, we welcome back our "Vault Keeper", renowned producer Jon Davison (Robocop/Starship Troopers), who will present what is believed to be the last remaining 35MM IB Technicolor print of Mario Bava's THE WHIP AND THE BODY, along with a hand-picked special edition of "Trailers from Hell", all on 35MM! Plenty of new friends join us this year, with features that span the vast spectrum of horror: Ron Carlson's DEAD ANT, a horror comedy that touts its love for the B-Movies that inspired it, Fabien Delage's COLD GROUND and Tyler Schnabel & Sam Hanover's FRAZIER PARK RECUT, two found footage films that breathe new life into the subgenre, Leo Scherman's TRENCH 11, a thrilling horror story set within the dark last days of the First World War, Luciano & Nicolás Onetti's anticipated WHAT THE WATERS LEFT BEHIND, and a taste of British humor with Jason Flemyng's horror comedy EAT LOCALS. And to guide us through the weekend, we're excited to announce that Meredith Borders, editorial director of Birth.Movies.Death, will be our guest host, moderating conversations with special guests and visiting filmmakers.

And it wouldn't be the Telluride Horror Show without the short film showcases, presented in themed blocks, with expected sold-out crowds. Thus far, we're excited to announce 41 shorts, from alumni and newcomers, that promise to provide plenty of suspense, scares, thrills, and laughs, along with an extremely impressive display of talented filmmaking and storytelling, from all over the world.

This first wave would be enough to fill a weekend, but we've got much, much more to come! Trust us when we say this is going to be the biggest, most exciting TellurideHorror Show yet...heads will spin!"

USA | 2017 | 91 min | Director: Alexandre O. Philippe
The screeching strings, the plunging knife, the slow zoom out from a lifeless eyeball: In 1960, Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho changed film history forever with its taboo-shattering shower scene. With 78 camera set-ups and 52 edits over the course of 3 minutes, Psycho redefined screen violence, set the stage for decades of slasher films to come, and introduced a new element of danger to the movie-going experience. Aided by a roster of filmmakers, critics, and fans - including Guillermo del Toro, Bret Easton Ellis, Jamie Lee Curtis, Eli Roth, and Peter Bogdanovich - director Alexandre O. Philippe pulls back the curtain on the making and influence of this cinematic game changer, breaking it down frame by frame and unpacking Hitchcock's dense web of allusions and double meanings. The result is an enthralling piece of cinematic detective work that's nirvana for film and horror buffs.

In 2007, forty-nine people were brutally torn to pieces in Louisiana's Honey Island Swamp. Over the past decade, lone survivor Andrew Yong's claims that local legend Victor Crowley was responsible for the horrific massacre have been met with great controversy, but when a twist of fate puts him back at the scene of the tragedy, Crowley is mistakenly resurrected and Yong must face the bloodthirsty ghost from his past. VICTOR CROWLEY's ensemble cast also features Laura Ortiz (2006's The Hills Have Eyes), Dave Sheridan (Scary Movie), and Brian Quinn (truTV's "Impractical Jokers"). Writer/director Adam Green proudly returns to the director's chair of his series that, upon debuting in 2007, was energetically touted as a return to "old school American horror," and whose maniacal fan-favorite villain quickly secured a place among slasher royalty.
