We like watching new horror movies around Halloween, so it's nice to see some bigger horror movies getting October release dates. A couple of weeks back, Dimension Films announced that Halloween 3D would arrive in theaters on October 26, 2012, and now Lionsgate has just set a release date for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D on October 5, 2012.

Producer Carl Mazzocone issued the following statement along with the release date: "I'm excited to re-conceive this iconic horror classic in a contemporary setting for a new generation of horror fans to enjoy.... Both John Luessenhop and I intend to deliver a new chapter derived from Tobe Hooper's 1973 masterpiece with the goal of making it as horrifying as the original, in 3D."

On Monday, we covered the spoiler-filled plot details that were released for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D. To check them out, read our previous article: http://dailydead.com/plot-info-for-texas-chainsaw-massacre-3d/
