Shane Black celebrated the start of filming on The Predator yesterday by unveiling a new cast photo, but as he mentioned in his Tweet, the image only features a "partial cast," with Thomas Jane in talks to appear in the film, and now a new addition, Alfie Allen, coming on board.

THR revealed the news of Allen joining the cast of The Predator to play an "ex-Marine" character who links up with other humans (most likely the ones featured in the previously released photo) to try and take down the Predators. THR also mentions that the battleground will be suburbia, which has been the film's rumored locale for quite some time.

Allen, whom many know as Theon Greyjoy from Game of Thrones and Iosef Tarasov from John Wick, joins a cast that includes Sterling K. Brown, Trevante Rhodes, Boyd Holbrook, Jacob Tremblay, Olivia Munn, and Keegan-Michael Key.

The Predator is scheduled for a February 9th, 2018 theatrical release from 20th Century Fox. Black (who co-starred as the wisecracking Rick Hawkins in the original Predator) directs the film from a screenplay he co-wrote with Fred Dekker (Night of the Creeps and The Monster Squad—the latter being a film he also co-wrote with Black).

In a recent interview with We Got This Covered, Holbrook discussed how The Predator is not a sequel and that it's not likely that we'll see Arnold Schwarzenegger reprising his role as Dutch. We'll keep Daily Dead readers updated on further details as they are revealed.
