After the shocking mid-season finale of The Walking Dead Season 8, there are still some big questions left to answer in the mid-season premiere, and AMC will extend the usual 60-minute runtime for The Walking Dead (including commercials) to tell what could be the series' most pivotal story yet [spoiler warning for those who haven't seen the mid-season 8 finale].

EW reports that The Walking Dead Mid-Season 8 premiere will have an 82-minute runtime (presumably including commercials). The crucial episode will be a sendoff for Chandler Riggs, whose character Carl was revealed to be bitten by a walker at the end of the mid-season 8 finale.

Carl's death will have a huge impact on Rick, Michonne, and the rest of the survivors, and the extended runtime will allow the final chapter of his story to be told in full.

Directed by Greg Nicotero, the mid-season 8 premiere will air on February 25th at 9:00pm EST on AMC. Stay tuned to Daily Dead for more updates, let us know if you'll be watching the new episode in the comments below, and check here to keep up to date on all of our Walking Dead Season 8 coverage.
