We've been covering Telltale Games' development of The Walking Dead video game since it was announce last year. While we've seen a number of screenshots and videos, we haven't had any solid release information. Now, it appears that the first episode of the game is ready and we could see it at the beginning of May.

"The Walking Dead‘s multi-platform adventure game is expected to be submitted for approval on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network this week, Telltale Games co-founder and CEO Dan Connors revealed in an interview with Digital Trends at the 2012 Game Developer’s Conference in San Francisco last week. The process is expected to take around six weeks, and the release ought to follow shortly after that.

Bear in mind that these certification processes are never exact, so the wait could be longer. Note that Connors did tell me during the interview that the hope is to get the game out soon, to capitalize on the popularity of the TV show’s second season, which ends next week on March 18. An April or May release for episode one of the upcoming game seems likely. This also might only apply to the XBLA and PSN releases; Connors said nothing about about release plans for other platforms."
