Universal has been interested in moving forward with a fourth Jurassic Park film for years now, but it seems like their plans have firmed up, as an official release date was just announced. At this point, specific movie details have not been released, but it has been revealed that Jurassic Park 4 will be released in 3D on June 13, 2014.

The last report we had on the project was back in June, when it was announced that Rise of the Planet of the Apes writers Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver were hired to work on a new script. Previously, Steven Spielberg talked about the possibility of directing the new installment, but the report from June also mentioned that he had decided to stick to a producing role.

We don't know how much has changed over the last six months, so stay tuned for additional updates in the very near future. This is a breaking news item, so it's light on details, but we'll report back as soon as we have more information on who's involved with Jurassic Park 4 and what to expect from the new story.
