There were some hiccups in Vannen's release of a limited edition watch design based on The Walking Dead comic book series. Not only was the run extremely limited (250), but there were server crashes, limited shipping options, and many of the watches purchased were being resold.
Vannen and Skybound have paying attention to fan feedback and it seems likely that they will release an additional run of modified watches:
"We're considering reprinting the Walking Dead watch. Before you freak out, please keep reading.
First and foremost Walkers! is a great watch and we don't want to kill it off. Most of the people that got Walkers! were US only... and half of the people flipped it... which means it never made it to most of the real fans in and out of the US.
To leave that watch to die a death of only 250 pieces seems silly. We want to make more so that those of you outside the US... and those of you here in the US that didn't grab one can finally have one... without paying a fortune.
Out of respect to those of you who bought the first one, we're going to make some adjustments to the new verison. We'll do new etchings, matte packaging, and a little tweaks here and there... and NO signed and numbered packaging.
We understand the value of a collectible, so please keep in mind that these tweaks will not encroach upon the collectibility of the first one... we just want those of you who missed out on Walkers! to get the watch without paying a fortune on ebay.
Flipping is lame, and that's why we want to reprint Wakers! We want this watch in the hands of the real fans at a reasonable price.
