US horror fans will be waiting until late 2013 to see American Mary, but it begins playing internationally this month and we have a second clip that was recently released. American Mary was directed by Jen and Sylvia Soska, and stars Katharine Isabelle, Antonio Cupo, Tristan Risk, David Lovgren, Paula Lindberg, and Twan Holliday.

American Mary tells the story of a medical student named Mary (Katharine Isabelle) who grows increasingly broke and disenchanted with medical school and the established doctors she once idolized. The allure of easy money sends a desperate Mary through the messy world of underground surgeries which leaves more marks on her than the so-called freakish clientele.”

Universal Pictures International Entertainment acquired distribution rights forAmerican Mary in a number of European countries, including the UK and Germany. Those countries will see an limited theatrical release of the movie in early January, with a Blu-ray/DVD release later that month.

XLrator Media recently announced that they have acquired American Mary for US distribution with plans to release the movie on their Screamfest label later this year. Specific release plans have not yet been made available, but we’ll let readers know as soon as we have more information.
