"How far would you go to pay your rent?" That's the unsettling question at the core of the horror comedy short film The Cost of Living, and ahead of its January 22nd premiere on Gunpowder & Sky's ALTER, we've been provided with the exclusive teaser trailer to share with Daily Dead readers.

Directed by Tom Nicoll from a screenplay he wrote with Zach Newby, The Cost of Living stars Lorna Nickson Brown, Jonathan Coote, and Liam Harkins.

Nicoll shared what inspired him to make The Cost of Living: "I wanted to make this film because, like many young people living in a big city, I remain constantly shocked about how much money it costs simply to have a room in such a city. I thought about how to capture that idea in a humorous and satirical way, and this film is the result of that. Without wanting to give too much away, the genre aspect of this story ties in very well with how I felt about the amount of money leaving my bank account every month!"

Keep an eye out for The Cost of Living when it premieres on Gunpowder & Sky's ALTER on January 22nd, enjoy our exclusive trailer below, and to learn more about Nicoll and his work, visit:
