The main cast and producers of The Walking Dead took the stage for their Comic-Con panel this afternoon and showed a crowd of 6,500 the official Season 5 trailer with over three minutes of brand new footage. Thankfully, AMC knows that The Walking Dead fans at home can barely stand the wait and they've released the Season 5 trailer for all to watch.

Taking place right where we left Rick's group during the Season 4 finale, the trailer shows that their stay at Terminus takes quite a different direction than fans may have been expecting, while still sticking to the overall comic book series path. We see plenty of new footage of Andrew J. West as Garth, the leader of Terminus, and there's a quick shot of Seth Gilliam's new role in the show. Those wondering what happened to Beth also get a good tease that leaves many more questions than answers.

Scott M. Gimple, the Season 4 showrunner, has returned for The Walking Dead Season 5. Sixteen episodes are planned, an October premiere has been officially announced below, and we’ll keep Daily Dead readers posted on any further developments. I'll be conducting interviews with the cast and producers later this afternoon and will be sharing all new details on The Walking Dead Season 5 throughout the rest of the month.
