Weekend Box Office Update

Immortals claimed the top spot at this weekend's box office, earning an estimated $32 million. While not close to the opening of 300, this was still a respectable showing for an R-rated film and was also the biggest opening for Relativity Media. Paranormal Activity 3 just crossed the $100 domestic mark and should pass the total US gross of the first Paranormal Activity if Paramount lets it hang out for another couple of weeks.

Next week's big releases include Happy Feet Two and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1. Here are the top 10 box office results for this weekend:

1. Immortals - $32,000,000
2. Jack and Jill - $26,000,000
3. Puss In Boots - $25,500,000
4. Tower Heist - $13,200,000
5. J. Edgar - $11,470,000
6. Harold and Kumar 3D - $5,900,000
7. In Time - $4,150,000
8. Paranormal Activity 3 - $3,625,000
9. Footloose - $2,735,000
10. Real Steel - $2,000,000
