One of the bigger stories from last week was that MTV greenlighted a pilot episode for a Scream TV series. It was said that Dimension Films and MTV were talking to Wes Craven about directing and he recently confirmed the news:

"A lot of you have asked about the Scream TV series. It's true I've been approached. My response was, it would depend on the script. If they have a great script/concept, it could be fun. If not, not."

The project is still in the very early stages and the search has started for a writer to take on the one-hour pilot script. Provided the pilot is successful and MTV gives a Scream TV series a full season order, the plan is to begin airing the series in summer 2014. We'll report back as soon as more details become available.
