William Fichtner joins Elysium?

William Fichtner is one of my favorite working character actors and has appeared dozens of movies including Drive Angry 3D, The Dark Knight, and Equilibrium. According to Variety, he is in final negotiations to join the cast of Neill Blomkamp's Elysium. He will be joining Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, and Sharlto Copley in this future world sci-fi epic.

Elysium won't be in theaters until March 1, 2013, so we have a long wait before we see the next film from the director of District 9. This is a really strong cast Neill Blomkamp has put together, though, and I'm really looking forward to seeing what he does with this film.
