In 2007, fans of Ridley Scott's sci-fi cult classic film, Blade Runner, finally got to see it the way the prolific director intended with the Ridley-approved final cut that was released on home media and in select theaters. England residents who missed this version's run at the cinema will soon have another chance to see it on the big screen, with the British Film Institute set to re-release Blade Runner in UK cinemas.

The BFI announced that the final cut of Blade Runner will be added to their October – December "Sci-Fi: Days of Fear and Wonder" series, screening first at the BFI IMAX on December 12th before playing at a number of cinemas on December 14th. Blade Runner will then be re-released wide in England beginning April 3rd, 2015:

"Perhaps more than any other film, Scott’s iconic sci-fi classic has gripped audiences and inspired passionate and fierce debate. Harrison Ford is exemplary as the world weary detective hunting down intelligent but murderous replicants amidst a neon-lit, rain-spattered future LA. The film is available for special screenings on Sunday 14 December 2014, to coincide with Sci-Fi: Days of Fear and Wonder."

It's also worth noting that Ridley Scott is set to direct the long-discussed Blade Runner sequel off a script by the original film's co-writer Hampton Fancher and Michael Green. Harrison Ford has expressed interest in returning to play Rick Deckard so long as the script is up to par.
