With several new members added to its cast, cameras are now rolling on Officer Downe, the feature film adaptation of the graphic novel of the same name from Man of Action/Image Comics. Also included in our latest round-up are details on Anchor Bay Entertainment's I Spit On Your Grave: Vengeance is Mine and a look at a new Freddy Krueger-inspired ice cream cone print from Cavity Colors.
Officer Downe: Press Release - "Officer Downe co-creator/screenwriter/producer Joe Casey (Ben 10/Marvel's Avengers Assemble), director/producer Shawn "Clown" Crahan (Slipknot), and producers Man of Action Entertainment (I Kill Giants, The Great Unknown, Big Hero 6 character/team creators), Skip Williamson (Underworld), Mark Neveldine (Crank), Cole Payne (Downloading Nancy) and Cory Brennan (Slipknot manager) have cast Tyler Ross (Zombieland, American Milkshake) as Officer Gable opposite previously announced lead, Kim Coates (Sons of Anarchy), in the independent film that began principal photography this week in Los Angeles. Lauren Velez (Dexter) has come aboard as Police Chief Berringer, Reno Wilson (Mike & Molly) and Bruno Gunn (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire) will portray Officers Carter and Fritch.
"We couldn't have asked for a better group of actors here. They way they're all bringing the thunder, we're absolutely gonna melt brains with this flick," said Casey. Voltage Pictures is repping the film internationally.
Officer Downe is based on the graphic novel written by Casey and illustrated by Burnham released on the Man of Action imprint at Image Comics. It tells the story of an LA supercop routinely killed in the line of duty, but who is repeatedly resurrected and sent back out onto the streets. The film marks Crahan's feature directing debut after many well-received Slipknot music videos.

I Spit On Your Grave: Vengeance is Mine: Press Release - "LOS ANGELES, CA – Anchor Bay Entertainment announced today the acquisition of I Spit On Your Grave: Vengeance is Mine, the third chapter in CineTel Films’ successful horror franchise. Anchor Bay has rights to all formats including theatrical, digital, home entertainment and TV for North America and other English speaking territories (UK, Australia, New Zealand). The film is being produced by Lisa Hansen and Paul Hertzberg of CineTel Films, and Executive Produced by Meir Zarchi, director of the original 1978 cult classic. R.D.Braunstein is directing the film and Sarah Butler reprises her role from 2010’s I Spit On Your Grave. Anchor Bay Entertainment President Bill Clark made today’s announcement. This latest installment is a continuation of the 2010 storyline and is currently in post-production, expected to be released later this year.
