We promised Daily Dead readers an overload of content leading up to The Walking Dead Season 4 premiere and we're starting off our coverage today with twenty nine photos from the new season, including many previously unseen images from the first three episodes.

“In the highly anticipated new season, we find Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and the group fostering a thriving community in the safe haven of the prison. Sadly, in this brutal world, happiness is short-lived and walkers and outside threats are no match for danger brewing inside the fences. The group’s home and new way of life will be thoroughly tested, and their struggle to survive has never been so perilous. Season 4 also introduces several new characters including Bob Stookey (Lawrence Gilliard Jr., The Wire)."

The 16-episode fourth season starts on October 13th in the US. Internationally, the series is expected to return on the same week in most countries, so check your local listings for a specific date and time. Like last season, there will be a break after the first eight episodes, with The Walking Dead Season 4 returning in February 2014 with the final eight episodes.

The first new episode is titled "30 Days Without an Accident" and here is the official synopsis:

"Rick and the group are as close to an ideal life as possible at the prison. Will they be able to hold on to humanity in the face of a new evil?"

"30 Days Without an Accident" was directed by Greg Nicotero and written by the series' new showrunner, Scott M. Gimple.
