The zombies in AMC's Fear The Walking Dead are gaining ground as the calendar creeps closer to April 10th, the season two premiere date that will mark the return of faces both familiar and fresh. Today, two new actors were announced to appear in the second season of The Walking Dead companion series, while Fox's The Rocky Horror Picture Show reboot also added a new cast member.

TVLine reports that Dougray Scott (Hemlock Grove) has joined Fear The Walking Dead Season 2 in a recurring role. Details on his character have yet to be revealed, but there is speculation that he will portray "Casey, a decent man who believes in civility”, someone who "is confident in an unexpected position of authority." It's important to note that casting details for The Walking Dead-related projects are usually misleading to provide secrecy, so we'll have to wait and see if the above description is the true nature of Scott's character.

Also set to appear in Fear The Walking Dead Season 2 in a recurring role is Veronica Diaz-Carranza (Behold My Heart, Complications), who, according to Deadline, will play "Vanessa, described as smart and deceptive, with a look of innocence, someone who throws herself into her work with reckless abandon." Again, we'll see if her real character matches that description when the series returns this spring.

Deadline also reports that Ben Vereen (Roots, How I Met Your Mother) has been cast in Fox's The Rocky Horror Picture Show reboot. Vereen will play Dr. Everett Scott in the two-hour TV special, a role previously portrayed by Jonathan Adams in the 1975 film. Scheduled to air this fall, the reboot also stars Laverne Cox (Dr. Frank-N-Furter), Victoria Justice (Janet), Ryan McCartan (Brad), Adam Lambert (Eddie), Reeve Carney (Riff Raff), Staz Nair (Rocky), Annaleigh Ashford (Columbia), Christina Milian (Magenta), and Tim Curry (the show’s Criminologist Narrator).

Stay tuned to Daily Dead for more updates on Fear The Walking Dead and The Rocky Horror Picture Show reboot.
