Rob Zombie is currently filming The Lords of Salem, and has provided new casting updates and photos. Last week we had a report that Bruce Davison joined the cast, but there were no details on his role in the film. Rob Zombie confirmed that he has replaced Bruce Dern in the film:

"I got some good news and I got some bad news. The bad news is that Bruce Dern has fallen out of THE LORDS OF SALEM due to a scheduling conflict. But fear not! We have some great news.. BRUCE DAVIDSON [sic] has jumped in to save the day and we all couldn't be more thrilled!"

He'll be playing the role of "FRANCIS MATTHIAS author of the book ‘SATAN’S LAST STAND – The Truth About The Salem Witch Trials.’ Francis may know a little too much about witches for his own good."

*Editor's note: Quote above and image below list "Davidson" instead of "Davison".

It has also been announced that Christopher Knight (The Brady Bunch) has joined the cast as the host of a local Salem TV station:

"Pork chops and applesauce head to Salem! What the fuck does that mean? Of course it means Christopher Knight has joined our group. Chris plays Keith Williams aka Lobster Joe the host of Lobster Joe's Fishy Fun Show a staple of local Salem television."

Bruce and Christopher join previously announced cast members Barbara Crampton, Ken Foree, Lisa Marie, Richard Lynch, Billy Drago, Dee Wallace, Trosten Voges, Ernest Thomas, Meg Foster, Maria Conchita Alonso, and Jeff Daniel Phillips.

“Heidi, a blonde rock chick, DJs as a local radio station, and together with the two Hermans (Whitey and Munster) forms part of the ‘Big H Radio Team’.

A myserious wooden box containing a vinyl record arrives for Heidi, ’a gift from the Lords’. She assumes it’s a rock band on a mission to spread their word. As Heidi and Whitey play the Lords’ record, it starts to play backwards, and Heidi experiences a flashback to a past trauma.

Later, Whitey plays the Lords’ record, dubbing them the Lords of Salem, and to his surprise, the record plays normally and is a massive hit with listeners.

The arrival of another wooden box from the Lords presents the Big H team with free tickets, posters and records to host a gig in Salem. Soon Heidi and her cohorts find that the gig is far from the rock spectacle they’re expecting: the original Lords of Salem are returning, and they’re out for BLOOD.”

"RZ and Ernie Thomas proclaim victory shortly after wrapping up a long night of shooting. BTW Ernie's performance in the film is fucking genius."

"LORDS OF SALEM composer (and #1 Brady Bunch fan) John Five decided to pay a visit to the set. Of course it just happened to be the day when Christopher Knight was getting ready to start work. Coincidence? I think not."
