Lily Collins may have dropped out of The Evil Dead remake, but we know who's playing the male lead. Don't worry about this actor replacing Bruce Campbell, though. It has been previously revealed that Ash will not be recast in the film.

Shiloh Fernandez (pictured below), who was most recently seen in Red Riding Hood, has been cast in the lead male role. They still need to cast the female lead, along with 3 other friends who visit a cabin in the woods and summon the dead.

Fede Alvarez is directing the remake and wrote the original script, along with Rodo Sayagues. It was previously announced that Diablo Cody had been hired to polish up the script. Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert, and Bruce Campbell are producing. Filming is expected to begin later this year in New Zealand, and a release date has been set for April 12th, 2013.

“Five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin where they discover a Book Of The Dead and unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.”
