What kind of a person would Valentine McKee be a quarter of a century after the Graboid worms broke through the gravel in Perfection, Nevada? That question will be answered when Kevin Bacon reprises his role as "Val" in SYFY's new Tremors TV series pilot episode, and we now know the names of a few of the people who will join him on the day the giant worms come back.

According to Deadline, Emily Tremaine (Vinyl), Megan Ketch (2016's American Gothic, Under the Dome), and Shiloh Fernandez (pictured above in 2013's Evil Dead, Skateland) are set to co-star with Bacon in the Tremors pilot episode, which is a sequel to the 1990 creature feature and a potential launching pad for a new TV series for the franchise.

Deadline reports that Tremaine will portray "Emily McKee, the whip-smart daughter of Val (Bacon) with a bright future ahead of her. She is newly graduated and stops by Perfection to visit her dad, but quality time with him is the standard disappointment, as Emily sinks further into the understanding that he’ll never change."

Ketch, meanwhile, will play "Mindy Sterngood, a charismatic young doctor with an eyebrow-raising fixation on the much-older Val, who saved her from a Graboid at age 9. But Mindy is hiding something that makes her an unanticipated threat: Compelling as she is, more cunning is her mask."

Finally, Fernandez will portray "Nico Garza, who has been killing time in Perfection, working in Earl’s Graboid Waste Gobbling company, waiting for the right moment to split. The last thing he wants is to turn out like Val, who’s stayed stuck in nowheresville all these years." This character synopsis is of particular interest, as it reveals that Earl, the character played by Fred Ward in Tremors and Tremors II: Aftershocks, is still a fixture in the community of Perfection, at the very least by name.

Other than Bacon, no other cast members from the original Tremors movie have been confirmed to return for the new pilot episode. The franchise currently includes five films and a TV series that aired for one season on the Sci-Fi Channel in 2003. A sixth film in the franchise, starring Michael Gross as Burt Gummer, will be released on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD on January 30th, 2018.

The Tremors pilot episode is set to be directed by Vincenzo Natali (Cube, Splice), who has an impressive list of TV directorial credits to his name, having worked behind the camera on Darknet, Hemlock Grove, The Returned, Hannibal, Wayward Pines, Westworld, The Strain, and American Gods. Natali will work from a script written by showrunner Andrew Miller, who starred as Kazan in Natali's first feature film, Cube. Miller will also be the showrunner of the potential new series from Universal Cable Productions, and he will executive produce alongside Bacon, Bacon, David Schiff (Southpaw), and Blumhouse Television.

As per the press release that was sent out in June, the new Tremors pilot episode will feature the following synopsis:

"The killer Graboid worms that nearly destroyed Perfection, Nevada 25 years ago are back, and the town’s only hope for survival is Valentine McKee (Bacon) who beat them once. But to do it again he’ll have to overcome age, alcohol and a delusional hero complex."

With only a pilot episode ordered by SYFY at this time, it remains to be seen whether or not Tremors will move forward as a new TV series, but we'll be sure to keep Daily Dead readers updated as more details are revealed.
