The New Zealand special effects and props company Weta Workshop has carefully crafted a collector's statue of the ring-obsessed Gollum from Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings trilogy. The first in a line called Masters Collection, this statue was sculpted by Jamie Beswarick with all of Gollum's features in mind, right down to his stringy hair and wrinkly skin, and we have a look at a photo gallery of the detailed statue:

Gollum: Masters Collection Statue: "Crafted in the heart of Middle-earth, with the most intricate of details. Every pore infused with an unparalleled dedication to artistry. Weta Workshop is proud to present our first Masters Collection statue: Gollum.

Unveiled for the first time at San Diego Comic-Con 2017, this haunting sculpture is the embodiment of our finest work.

We hope you enjoy.

Two and a half years in development, Gollum has been crafted by Master Sculptor Jamie Beswarick, a member of Weta Workshop’s sculpting team for more than twenty years.

Featuring hand-placed natural hair, translucent skin, and cloth of real leather, this is the first time Weta Workshop has represented Gollum in 1:3 scale. Near clear, water-effect resin lies the creature’s ill-fated Ring, undisturbed on the naked stone, caught in a moment in time.

To celebrate the release of this very special first Masters Collection sculpture, we have created Gollum in a Limited Edition of just 589: one statue to mark each year of Gollum's life in Middle-earth.

About the Author - Tamika Jones

Tamika hails from North Beach, Maryland, a tiny town inches from the Chesapeake Bay.She knew she wanted to be an actor after reciting a soliloquy by Sojourner Truth in front of her entire fifth grade class. Since then, she's appeared in over 20 film and television projects. In addition to acting, Tamika is the Indie Spotlight manager for Daily Dead, where she brings readers news on independent horror projects every weekend.

The first horror film Tamika watched was Child's Play. Being eight years old at the time, she remembers being so scared when Chucky came to life that she projectile vomited. It's tough for her to choose only one movie as her favorite horror film, so she picked two: Nosferatu and The Stepford Wives (1975).
