Urban Exploring Horror BLACK MOLD Reveals Trailer: "Photographer Brooke (Agnes Albright, True Detective) and her pal Tanner (Andrew Bailes) sneak into abandoned, off-limits buildings for the sake of their art and also the adrenaline rush. But when the daredevil pair break into their holy grail - Franklin Hill, a large facility with a history – they encounter a dangerously paranoid squatter (Jeremy Holm, Brooklyn 45) who holds them captive. The longer their attacker keeps them there, the more it becomes clear there’s something else profoundly wrong with the place as dangers surface at the intersection of artistic pursuits and internal sabotage

The film won Best Indie Feature at this year’s Panic Fest in the US and Agnes Albright was also named Best Actress.

Black Mold is a Head Trauma Production, in association with The Line Film Co. and Shatterglass Films. It was produced by Sarah Sharp, Jen Shelby, Robert Patrick Stern, and Iman Sharabash, with Jill Gevargizian, Tony Wash, and Kevin McGrail on-board as Co-Producers."

MIDNIGHT SYNDICATE RELEASES NEW STUDIO ALBUM, THE BRIMSTONE CLUB: "Horror Fantasy and Halloween music composers Midnight Syndicate have released their 15th studio album, The Brimstone Club. Featuring the “soundtracks to imaginary films” concept the band helped pioneer, The Brimstone Club blends orchestration and sound effects to take listeners to a shadowy theatre club where the strangeness of its exotic entertainment and libations are matched only by its peculiar clientele.

“The album was inspired by the Parisian Cabaret de L’Enfer, a 19th century hell-themed cabaret that was a forerunner to the haunted attractions and themed restaurants and taverns of today,” said Midnight Syndicate founder and co-composer Edward Douglas.

“Sometimes a piece of history can prove to be every bit as fascinating as anything one might imagine,” added Midnight Syndicate co-composer Gavin Goszka.

Similar to Midnight Syndicate’s other albums, The Brimstone Club utilizes music and sound to tell a story whose details are left up to the listener. “We hope people are able to listen to it at least once from start to finish in a quiet darkened room. There’s a lot in this world to explore in your mind’s eye,” said Douglas.

Midnight Syndicate

Midnight Syndicate is synonymous with haunting themes, gothic fantasy soundtracks, and musical storytelling at its most evocative. If you’ve visited a haunted attraction or amusement park anywhere in the world during the Halloween season, went trick-or-treating, or enjoyed a night of Dungeons & Dragons with friends, chances are you’ve heard their music. Since 1997, dark music pioneers Edward Douglas and Gavin Goszka have been entertaining fans of Halloween, gothic music, haunted attractions, horror cinema, video games, and roleplaying games with their soundtracks to imaginary films. Featuring a signature blend of orchestral music and sound effects, Midnight Syndicate’s fifteen studio albums, along with their independent film, The Dead Matter, and several film scores, have earned them a worldwide following. In 2003, the band was approached to produce the first official soundtrack to the seminal roleplaying game, Dungeons & Dragons. Their success has led to collaborations with Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights and Cedar Point’s HalloWeekends, along with features on television shows, HSN, SiriusXM’s Scream Radio, video games, King Diamond tours, a Misfits live album, and several releases by major horrorcore artists. In 2014, the band began producing Midnight Syndicate Live!, a series of horror-themed multimedia concerts which continue to enjoy successful runs at Cedar Point’s annual HalloWeekends event to this day."

SHUDDER ACQUIRES HOTLY ANTICIPATED THRILLER “INFESTED” AHEAD OF ITS WORLD PREMIERE AT VENICE FILM FESTIVAL: "Shudder, AMC Networks’ premium streaming service for horror, thrillers and the supernatural, announced today it has acquired North American, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand rights to Charades and WTF Films thriller INFESTED, previously titled VERMIN, ahead of its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival. From multi-international-awards shorts director/writer Sébastien Vanicek, INFESTED is his first feature film, which he co-wrote with Florent Bernard. The film will make its North American premiere in competition at Fantastic Fest, Austin. The film is scheduled for release by Shudder in 2024.

“INFESTED terrifies, on a multitude of levels. The film is full of horror, suspense and some serious bite,” said VP of Global Acquisitions and Co-Productions Emily Gotto. “Sébastien is an incredibly talented director, and we are thrilled to bring his feature film debut to the Shudder audience.”

“The idea was always to make a movie that’s worth your ticket, a spectacle worth showing up for. To make a film to blow your mind, your ears, and to hit you in the gut,” said INFESTED director Sébastien Vanicek. “It’s also a very personal film which depicts French suburbs I know, far from the eeriness of the auteur films or the caricature of the comedies. It’s a genre film that shakes you to your core, moves you, makes you shiver, because it seems to me that through emotions you end up concerned and involved.”

Théo Christine (Gran Turismo), Finnegan Oldfield (Reinventing Marvin), Jérôme Niel (Les Tutos), Sofia Lesaffre (Les Misérables) and Lisa Nyarko star in the film, which was shot in France, and was produced by Harry Tordjman (Last Dance) for My Box Films.

In INFESTED, Kaleb is about to turn 30 and has never been lonelier. He’s fighting with his sister over a matter of inheritance and has cut ties with his best friend. Fascinated by exotic animals, he finds a venomous spider in a bazaar and brings it back to his flat. It only takes a moment for it to escape and reproduce, turning the whole place into a dreadful web trap. At the same time, the police lock down the building where the residents are ambushed. Only option for Kaleb and his mates - find the way out to survive.

The deal was negotiated by Charades and WTFilms on behalf of the filmmakers and Emily Gotto on behalf of Shudder."
