PANICK Entertainment has certainly had an exciting year since the company was first announced at SDCC 2024, with multiple horror comic book series we've been covering, including T.A.M.A., Black Diamond, and Savager. But that's only the beginning... there's a lot more horror on the way from PANICK.
Tonight at Comic-Con, the PANICK team will be hosting a panel to talk about their first wave of titles and beyond, and we're excited to share with Daily Dead readers the first details on an upcoming project you won't want to miss. As a huge fan of Killadelphia, the Blacula graphic novel, and Batman: Full Moon, I was thrilled to learn that PANICK has teamed up with award-winning writer, producer, and comic book creator Rodney Barnes for a brand-new horror noir comic book series.
Last Words is planned as a 4-issue horror comic book series due out in mid-2026, following a down-on-his-luck detective whose latest case takes a supernatural turn:
Detective Harry Gaines has nothing left but the job, and even that’s slipping away. Nearing retirement, Harry’s a relic: broken, depressed, and dismissed as a joke by his peers. But when a high-profile child murder case lands in his lap, one the department is too afraid or too uninterested to pursue, Harry sees a final shot at redemption. The killer is methodical. No patterns beyond the victims: white girls, aged 11 to 14, all 5’2”, 100 pounds. Eleven bodies. No leads. Until number twelve—Cyndy Carpenter—speaks to Harry. From the morgue table.
