David Dastmalchian & Dylan Baker Join Irish Audio Horror ‘Petrified’: "David Dastmalchian (Late Night with the Devil, Street Fighter) and Dylan Baker (Happiness, The Good Wife) join the cast of Petrified, the award-winning Irish horror anthology audio drama, for its fourth season which releases on Feb 18th 2026.
Created by Peter Dunne (writer/director) and Liam Geraghty (producer), Petrified is an anthology fiction series from a darker Ireland, which tells the chilling tales of ordinary people encountering the supernatural, and their terrifying fates.
David Dastmalchian said, "When I had this opportunity presented to get to collaborate with some artists in Ireland, I leapt at the opportunity. I really love what those guys make. I think it's really cool. It reminds me of another time. I just really savor the idea of people all over the world, but especially transatlantic fans of horror, sitting up late at night in their rooms with their headphones on listening to this show and knowing that I get to be a part of it seemed really cool."
In addition, the cast includes a wealth of Irish actors including Donncha O'Dea (Power Ballad), Margaret McAuliffe (The Humours of Bandon), Michelle McMahon (EastEnders), Áine Ní Laoghaire (Róise & Frank), Anna Sheils-McNamee (Vikings), Gene Rooney (The Woman in the Wall), Roseanna Purcell (Red Rock), Amy O'Dwyer (Fair City), Caitríona Williams (Bad Sisters), Ste Murray (Northern Lights), Deirdre Monaghan (Game of Thrones), Deborah Wiseman (Vikings), Georgina McKevitt (Accelerator) as well as American actor Galen Howard (The Book of Boba Fett, Brooklyn Nine-Nine).
The series will also feature a cameo appearance from singer Niamh Kavanagh who won the 1993 Eurovision Song Contest for Ireland.
Petrified is created by the duo of Liam Geraghty and Peter Dunne with Dunne writing and directing and Geraghty producing, editing and sound design. The anthology series has won numerous accolades at the New York Festivals Radio Awards and the Irish Podcast Awards. The team also brought Petrified to the stage with a terrifying live show when they were invited to perform at the London Podcast Festival in 2022 and a second live show performed on stage in Dublin in 2023. Previous series featured actors like Larry Fessenden (Good Boy, Killers of the Flower Moon) and Cecil Baldwin (Welcome to Night Vale).
Liam Geraghty said, "Anthologies like Inside No. 9, The Twilight Zone and Trick 'r Treat had a lasting influence on myself and Peter, so we’re glad to be back exploring darker, self-contained stories. Not to mention returning to unsettle listeners with a distinctively Irish twist."
The show is funded in Ireland by Coimisiún na Meán with the television license fee through Sound & Vision - a funding scheme for broadcasters and independent producers that funds the production of high-quality programmes about Irish culture, heritage, and experience."
