As a longtime Divinyls fan, I knew Whistle would be my jam when "Back to the Wall" played over the opening credits: a nice tribute to the song's inclusion in A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master and one of the film's several delightful horror homages (such as Nick Frost's character being called Mr. Craven).
Blending bold kills with a cast of endearing characters (who have a great taste in music), Whistle is a horror movie with teeth and a heart, and with the film coming to theaters February 6th, we had the great pleasure of catching up with director Corin Hardy and actor Sophie Nélisse to discuss the film's practical effects, killer tunes, and memorable characters who get more than they bargained for when they blow an ancient Aztec Death Whistle.
Below, you can watch our full video interview with Corin Hardy and Sophie Nélisse, and in case you missed it, read Matt Donato's review of Whistle!
