Press Release: The Curious Case of Dr. Vane, the latest release from Summit Comics, is now live on Kickstarter. The one-shot follows one Aldric Vane, a member of the occult-rooted Black Sigil Syndicate, as he discovers the ability to traverse the multiverse.

Written by Summit chief creative Adam Barnhardt and drawn by Rolands Kalnins, this one-shot sees Vane ripped out of the Summit Universe and placed momentarily into the Hospice Universe, a shared horror universe established by Orange Cone Studios.

“Dr. Vane is a deeply personal story for me, an examination of the effects of dementia on people as they grow older through the lens of pulp-era horror,” Barnhardt says of the release. “Rolands was the first artist I thought about when first writing this story, and his care of it is very apparent as seen through the pages.”

Now live on Kickstarter through the next two weeks, The Curious Case of Dr. Vane will feature three covers: Cover A by Kalnins, Cover B by Rom Silva, and Cover C by Summit Talent Search 2025 winner Jay Zi.
