Pan’s Labyrinth Being Adapted into Stage Musical

Guillermo del Toro has his hands in movies, books, video games, and we can now add musicals to the list. A new report reveals that del Toro is moving forward with a stage musical adaptation of Pan's Labyrinth.

Deadline reports that Paul Williams has signed on to write the lyrics, while Oscar-winner Gustavo Santaolalla will be composing the music. Here's what del Toro had to say about them coming on board:

“I admire and love Gustavo and Paul wrote the perfect album in Phantom Of The Paradise, which I have loved for decades”

While it's still too early for release or casting details, Guillermo del Toro and Jeremy Ungar have completed a book for the stage version. The project has been in development for the last four years, but sounds like it's picking up steam, so we should have more details in the very near future.
