Excited for the upcoming release of Evil Dead? It has just been announced that the movie will be released one week earlier. Bruce Campbell took to his Twitter account to make the announcement: "The world cannot wait. The Evil Dead remake launches one week earlier! 4/5/13. You demanded it - you got it!"

For those who are looking to see it even earlier, Evil Dead will have its world premiere at SXSW in March. We recently mentioned that the original cut of Evil Dead was NC-17 and needed to be cut down to receive an R rating. It has now officially been given an R rating from the MPAA for "strong bloody violence and gore, some sexual content and language."

Evil Dead was directed by Fede Alvarez and sees a new cast of characters discovering the Necronomicon:

“Five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin where they discover a Book Of The Dead and unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.

A core cast of young, fresh talent includes Jane Levy (Suburgatory) as Mia; Shiloh Fernandez (Deadgirl, Red Riding Hood) as David; Lou Taylor Pucci (Carriers) as Eric; Jessica Lucas (Cloverfield) as Olivia and Elizabeth Blackmore (Legend of the Seeker) as Natalie.”
