Nicolas Cage to Star in Hotel 33

It has been announced that Nicolas Cage will star in Hotel 33 and the first project details have been released. According to The Wrap, the movie was written and will be directed by Kellie Madison. The story involves a detective that is investigating the disappearance of 32 people on the opening night of the Grand Hotel:

"Story is based on the presumed event surrounding the disappearance of 32 people on the opening night of the Grand Hotel in Williamsport, Pennsylvania in 1953. Cage will play a detective investigating the event, and while he does so, four teenagers break into the now-abandoned hotel for a night of festivities. Things soon go awry, and the detective is forced to turn his attention to discovering the mysterious happenings surrounding the strange disappearance of two of the four teens."

Production is expected to begin this September and Open Road Films is set to release the movie theatrically in the US. The movie will be produced by Emmett/Furla Films, Envision Entertainment and Foresight Unlimited, with international sales taking place this month during the Cannes Film Festival.
