Red Sea Media announced that they have acquired distribution rights to Darren Lynn Bousman's Sacrilege and Robert Ben Garant & Thomas Lennon's Hell Baby, and we have details on both projects:
Red Sea Media has assembled a strong slate in the last few months, including two new projects that the sales company has acquired worldwide rights for, excluding North America. Red Sea will be introducing the projects at the upcoming Marché du Film.
Red Sea has acquired the horror-thriller SACRILEGE, to be directed by Darren Lynn Bousman (SAW II-IV, 11-11-11). The film will be produced by Rick Dugdale of Enderby Entertainment through Enderby’s horror division Tony-Seven Films, Sean E. DeMott through Execution Style Entertainment and Chris M. Bonifay through Limb from Limb Pictures. In SACRILEGE, a family takes back their son 3 years after he is kidnapped & brainwashed by a devil worshipping cult – now, he would like nothing more than to watch them get murdered. With the cult surrounding their cabin, the family must fight for their lives while trying to undo the damage. No cast has yet been announced. The film is currently available for all territories worldwide excluding North America.
“Sacrilege is one of the most intense and macabre scripts I have ever had the pleasure of reading. I am through the roof to finally be making it and having Red Sea in my corner selling it!” said Bousman.
The second title announced for the slate is HELL BABY, a comedic horror film written and directed by Robert Ben Garant & Thomas Lennon (RENO 911!, NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM I & II). From Darko Entertainment and produced by Jeff Culotta, Ted Hamm, Sean McKittrick and Peter Principato, the film stars Rob Corddry, Leslie Bibb, Riki Lindhome, Rob Huebel, Michael Ian Black, Paul Scheer, Keegan Michael Key, Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon. In HELL BABY, An expectant couple moves into a haunted fixer-upper in New Orleans -- a house with a demonic curse. Things spiral out of control and only the Vatican's elite exorcism team can save them -- or can they? The film is currently available for all territories worldwide excluding North America.
