Can you believe it's been almost 20 years since the release of The Nightmare Before Christmas? The movie first opened in theaters on October 29th, 1993 and Disney just announced that they are working on a 20th anniversary edition. The Nightmare Before Christmas 20th Anniversary Blu-ray is due out on September 10th and will be available in a 3-disc 3D Blu-ray, standard Blu-ray, and DVD combo pack, as well as a Blu-ray / DVD combo pack.

"Now more astonishing and spectacular than ever, The Nightmare Before Christmas jumps off the screen and into your living room, immersing your family in the jaw-dropping splendor and mind-boggling fun of Disney Blu-ray 3D! Bored with the same old scare and scream routine, Pumpkin King Jack Skellington longs to spread the joy of Christmas. But his merry mission puts Santa in jeopardy and creates a nightmare for good little boys and girls everywhere."

The movie is already available on these formats and it is expected that this release will be more than simply a cover art change. There are no details on the bonus features that will be included, but we'll let readers know as soon as they are officially announced. Here's an early look at the cover art for both versions, thanks to Blu-ray.com:
