Last month, we brought you news that Paranormal Activity 5 had been delayed and would be released in 2014. It's now being reported that there will be two Paranormal Activity movies opening next year, with Paranormal Activity 5 arriving in October of 2014.

Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones is set for release on January 3rd, 2014, according to Box Office Mojo. This movie is believed to be the Latino spin-off that has been in the works. Meanwhile, Paranormal Activity 5 has been delayed an entire year and will open in theaters on October 24th, 2014.

A specific reason for the Paranormal Activity 5 delay has not been given, but the critical and fan reaction to Paranormal Activity 4 is likely the reason, along with the lower box office results. Paramount had success with The Devil Inside's January release, so it makes sense that they have given The Marked Ones an early 2014 release.

Like the previous sequels, we don’t have story or casting details and wouldn’t expect them for The Marked Ones until later this year. It's going to be a while before we hear anything significant about Paranormal Activity 5, but will let our readers know when any updates become available.
