Ender's Game got off to a decent start with $28 million and easily won the weekend at the US box office. With a production budget of $110 million, it still has a long way to go before it becomes profitable, but international ticket sales should be strong with Harrison Ford's involvement. In second place was Bad Grandpa, which has been a big hit for Paramount and the Jackass crew. Last Vegas was another new addition to the to the top ten and took third place with $16.5 million.

12 Years a Slave may have only earned $4.6 million, but the impressive thing is that the movie earned that number on only 410 screens. This is a movie that should continue to gain momentum, especially with all of the Oscar buzz. Don't expect too much horror talk over the next couple of months. Carrie was the last major theatrical horror release of the year and will be leaving the top ten next weekend. To date, the remake has earned $31.9 million.

Next week sees the release of Thor: The Dark World, which is sure to take first place with it opening on more than 3,800 screens. Here are the top ten results for this weekend:

1. Ender's Game - $28,000,000
2. Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa - $20,500,000
3. Last Vegas - $16,520,000
4. Free Birds - $16,200,000
5. Gravity - $13,130,000
6. Captain Phillips - $8,500,000
7. 12 Years a Slave - $4,600,000
8. Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2 - $4,200,000
9. Carrie - $3,400,000
