Last year, it was revealed that 007 screenwriters, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, were working on a Barbarella TV series with Drive's Nicolas Winding Refn. Now, it's being reported that the project has landed at Amazon. According to Deadline, Amazon Studios has picked up the pilot script and the hunt is on for a showrunner in anticipation of moving forward with the pilot and additional episodes.
This is an early report, so there is no casting news at this time and it is not known if Nicolas Winding Refn will still direct the pilot episode, as previously planned.
