First Casting News for The Stand

Earlier this year it was revealed that director Josh Boone would direct and do a script rewrite for the film adaptation of Stephen King’s The Stand after both Ben Affleck and Scott Cooper previously dropped out of the project. News on the project has been quiet for some time, but now that silence has been broken. The first cast member of The Stand has been announced, and fans of Boone's directing debut, Stuck in Love, should be pleased.

Actor Nat Wolff (pictured below) has secured a role in Boone's adaptation of King's epic apocalyptic novel, which will be released by Warner Bros. and CBS Films. The specific role that Wolff will play is unknown at this time, but, according to THR, Boone is writing one with the young actor specifically in mind. It seems fitting that Wolff will appear in a movie based on one of King's most well-known books, as he played a Stephen King obsessed writer in Stuck in Love.

The Stand will mark the third collaboration between Boone and Wolff (in addition to Stuck in Love, they also worked together in the upcoming drama, The Fault in Our Stars). The Stand will be Boone's second Stephen King adaptation, as he is also set to work on an adaptation of King's novel, Lisey's Story.
