I'm a firm believer that the 1999 Disney Channel Original Movie Smart House can be viewed as both a coming-of-age family drama and a horror film. A family held captive in their own house by an increasingly aggressive computer program? Sounds spooky to me. Now Netflix is getting in on the chills and thrills of artificial intelligence with a look at another unsettling smart house in the new movie TAU.

Directed by Federico D'Alessandro from a screenplay by Noga Landau, TAU stars Maika Monroe, Ed Skrein, and features the voice of Gary Oldman. The film will be available to stream on Netflix in the US beginning June 29th, and you can watch the new trailer below. Will you be tuning in?

Synopsis: "Held captive in a futuristic smart house, a woman hopes to escape by befriending the A.I. program that controls the house."
