Activision has just announced that they are developing a video game based on The Walking Dead TV series. Unlike the current game from Telltale that is more of an adventure-style game, Terminal Reality (Def Jam Rapstar, Ghostbusters: The Video Game) is developing this new game as a first person shooter that stars Daryl and Merle Dixon.

Via IGN: Developed by Terminal Reality, The Walking Dead will revolve around Daryl Dixon and his brother Merle on a “haunting, unforgiving quest to make their way to the supposed safety of Atlanta.” Players will control Daryl as they attempt to avoid detection from zombies that hunt using sight, sound and smell and will choose between fighting them or using stealth to avoid detection. According to Activision, “No place is truly safe for Daryl as he makes his way through the Georgia countryside in this new, post-apocalyptic world.”

The Walking Dead FPS video game is scheduled for release in 2013 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. We've included a teaser trailer below and you can visit the official website at: http://www.thewalkingdeadbegins.com/

We'll be sure to update this story when an official press release is issued or we have new details.
