With The Conjuring having been a major box office win for Warner Bros. and New Line, a sequel is already in development. However, a new report suggests that a spin-off is also being planned and will focus on a certain evil presence from the first movie.

According to Schmoes Know, a spin-off, titled Annabelle, will focus on the infamous doll we saw in the first film. It's rumored that filming could begin early next year with The Conjuring's Director of Photography, John R. Leonetti, taking on directing duties for this movie.

Of course, this is just a rumor at this point, so we'll let you know as soon as anything related to the spin-off is official. Here's our previous story regarding the upcoming sequel that is officially in the works:

"During the Bates Motel interview sessions at Comic-Con... Vera Farmiga let us know that she’s already signed on for another movie. Vera Farmiga joined our table to discuss the first and upcoming season of Bates Motel, but also had a chance to talk about The Conjuring. While we’ll post the full interview soon, she mentioned that both her and Patrick Wilson signed a deal that included the both of them appearing in a sequel."
