"Entire regions of the country are being wiped off the map." The apocalypse comes in the form of bat-like creatures that hunt by sound in the trailer for the new movie The Silence, coming to Netflix on April 10th.

Although featuring an apocalyptic, sound-based concept similar to 2018's A Quiet Place, The Silence is actually based on Tim Lebbon's 2015 novel of the same name.

Directed by John R. Leonetti (Annabelle) and written by Carey Van Dyke and Shane Van Dyke (based on Lebbon's novel), The Silence stars Stanley Tucci, John Corbett, and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina's Kiernan Shipka and Miranda Otto.

Synopsis: "When the world is under attack from terrifying creatures who hunt their human prey by sound, 16-year old Ally Andrews (Kiernan Shipka), who lost her hearing at 13, and her family seek refuge in a remote haven. But they discover a sinister cult who are eager to exploit Ally’s heightened senses."
