The galaxy's most deadly hunter is looking to return to the big screen, as The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane) is "in talks" to direct a new Predator movie for 20th Century Studios.

If Trachtenberg officially signs on to direct the new Predator film, he would helm a script that is being penned by Patrick Aison (Treadstone, Wayward Pines).

Plot details have not been revealed at this time, but according to Deadline, the new film is not expected to directly follow the plot of 2018's The Predator, which was directed by Shane Black from a script he co-wrote with Fred Dekker.

The Predator franchise began in 1987 and currently includes four feature films focused solely on the intergalactic hunter species, as well as two Alien crossover films. The new movie will be the first Predator film under 20th Century Studios following Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox.

We'll be sure to keep Daily Dead readers updated as more details are announced. In the meantime, what would you like to see in a new Predator movie?
