While it may be no surprise to hear that Tim Burton is looking to cast Helena Bonham Carter in his version of Dark Shadows, it is also being reported that Michelle Pfeiffer is currently in talks to star in the film:

"Pfeiffer would play Elizabeth Collins Stoddard, the reclusive matriarch of the Collins family which runs the Maine town. The character has not left the mansion since the disappearance  of her husband a decade earlier. ...  [Bonham Carter] is likely to play Hoffman, a specialist in psychology and rare blood disorders who moves into Collinwood."

If Michelle Pfeiffer signs on, she will be joining Johnny Depp, Jackie Earle Haley, and Eva Green in this adaptation of the 1960's horror soap opera. Shooting is scheduled to begin in April, with an unknown release date sometime in 2012.
