When Daily Dead contributor Ben Larned saw it at the Boston Underground Film Festival, he called Dave Made a Maze a "playful, darkly inventive look into the creative mind" in his review, and Gravitas Ventures' official trailer for the film certainly highlights its humor and the strangely unsettling vibe ahead of its August release.

Synopsis: "An unaccomplished and frustrated artist builds a cardboard box fort in his living room and winds up trapped with a gang of oddball explorers in a fantasy world of his own creation, threatened by booby traps and a bloodthirsty Minotaur."

Directed by Bill Watterson, Dave Made a Maze stars Nick Thune, Meera Rohit Kumbhani, James Urbaniak, John Morrison, Kirsten Vangsness, Stephanie Allynne, and Adam Busch. Gravitas Ventures will release the movie in select theaters on August 18th.
