KARDIAC - Love Letters & Dental Records ft. Jesse Madre

Verse 1:

They found her name in some love letters,

But couldn’t put a face to the name and identify her until the results came back on her dental records.

He lived on the top floor of brothel with girl who was rotted as the walls,

But held his composure given the circumstance of the odor.

Skin bitten and stretched to rigor-mortis terms,

He used her mouth as an ashtray,

Her teeth kept the cigarettes in place while they burned.

Used syringes and pill crushes for supper, no gag reflex to the stains,

The blood had dried and the maggots outgrown their wings.

During some of the hottest days in August, so exhausted,

Condensation on her corpse dripped, so he sprayed the whole room with cheap women’s perfume.

I guess his way to deal with it, morals sketchy,

Cuz she should have been put in the ground already.

Post-mortem bruising and keeps on using envelopes of dope,

The track marks that bleed, he would wipe the blood on her pointy, boney knees,

They’re both pretty much the same in the way they spend their days,

Identical to one another, you could call them soulmates of disposable waste.

Hook:

Even in death, you’re mine,

And in those love letters I meant every line and every word and every time I try,

To walk away, I got caught up in the flames,

As they kissed away your pain, they became your grave.

Verse 2:

Clothes drape her skeleton, his head sunk in her lap,

Numb to what he’s been lying next to, blankets on the window to keep the sun out the room.

He’s been living this way for weeks though,

Cigarette butts stuck in her teeth, so he kisses her above the cheekbone.

Tarnished love with a gallon of gas, tip over the space heater,

Exit the fire escape but doesn’t leave until he feels the heat from the fire on his face.

By the time Arson Investigators enter the room,

Forensics scraping the charred remains, off the bedsprings,

Chiseling soot off what’s left of her bones for a DNA specimen,

Thank god they found her mandible detached with all her teeth still intact,

This was a Sid & Nancy romance, mind wearing thin,

Kept calm with rum and pills that weren’t written out to him.

He was a John to her, but she was a dream to him.

He promised a better life, but instead she left him feeling empty,

Like a grave without the dead.

And before he set the fire, his mind went vacant,

And he strangled what little life she had left to get his hands to stop shaking.

Hook:

Even in death, you’re mine,

And in those love letters I meant every line and every word and every time I try,

To walk away, I got caught up in the flames,

As they kissed away your pain, they became your grave.

Even. In. Death.

(Even in death, you’re mine.)

Even. In. Death.

(Even in death you’re mine.)

Even in death, you’re mine.

Even. In. Death.

Even in death, you’re mine.
