A harrowing and heart-wrenching look into one woman's devastating grief for her deceased sister—and the unthinkable thing she will do to bring her back—the short horror film Resurrektor has enjoyed a well-received run on the festival circuit over the past year. Directed by Angad Aulakh from a script Aulakh co-wrote with Taylor Sardoni, Resurrektor is now available to watch online in its entirety, and Daily Dead is thrilled (and chilled) to exclusively premiere its online debut for viewers to enjoy!

You can watch Resurrektor in its entirety below, and we also have the official press release with additional details on the short horror film!

Press Release: Following a global film festival tour, critical acclaim and top honors at Oscar, BAFTA, and Canadian Screen-qualifying film festivals, award-winning horror short RESURREKTOR is now available to stream online. The film received laurels and awards from festivals including New York International Shorts Film Festival, LA Shorts, Riviera International Film Festival, Short Encounters Film Festival, Crimson Screen, Tokyo Shorts, Tampa Film Festival, and many others. Led by performances from Taylor Cooper (‘The Morning Show’, ‘FBI: Most Wanted’) and Guy Kent (‘The Place Between, ‘The Atomic Dream’), the cast also includes Ella Thomas (‘Nightbitch’) and Lestonja Diaz (‘Nashville’).

Shortlisted across ‘Best of’ lists, Chris Salce of Film Threat wrote “Resurrektor is top of my list for short films of 2023”; Short Films Matter called it “an unsettling masterpiece”; curated platform Shorted also shortlisted the film, calling it “a world of nightmares”; and Horror Society described it as “a frightening and visually arresting tale.”

In the grip of inconsolable loss, a young woman is driven to dark measures to reunite with her sister. The film explores the depths of trauma and the lengths we will go to overcome it, giving new meaning to the enduring adage: to what lengths would you go to bring back someone you love?

Last Carnival partners Aulakh and Kent produce the film from a script Aulakh co-wrote with Taylor Sardoni (‘Last Straw’); Aulakh and Sardoni also co-wrote the feature script, with Aulakh and Kent set to produce. Rounding out the team is Emmy Award-winning cinematographer Charlie Wuppermann (‘Kedi’), award-winning composer Tim Despic (Lionsgate’s ‘Fall’), Artios Award-winning casting director Michael Sanford, and production designer Leah Berman (‘The Atomic Dream’).

Aulakh and Kent’s prior Oscar-qualified short film, THE ATOMIC DREAM, was the winner of 22 festival awards and 34 nominations, also garnering international accolades and critical acclaim on its festival tour, described as a “cinematic creature, beautifully and vividly realized by Angad Aulakh” (Richard Propes). Among its global festival tour, the film played at SCAD Savannah Film Festival, IFS Los Angeles Film Festival, Amsterdam International Film Festival, Prague International Film Festival, among others. In a joint initiative with Paul Jun’s Filmocracy and Jon Fitzgerald’s iGems, the film received a theatrical run in Fall 2022. FlickFeast described the dark sci-fi story as "a recurring nightmare returning with a vengeance. The performances and direction generate magnificent suspense, while the craftsmanship has a playfulness worthy of The Twilight Zone."
