It looks like the Firefly family is returning for another round of carnage, mayhem, and tutti f—in' frutti ice cream, as Rob Zombie has confirmed that filming has officially begun on 3 From Hell, a new movie that is believed to be a sequel to The Devil's Rejects.

Rob Zombie shared the news about 3 From Hell on Instagram, sharing a photo (see below) of the film's title along with the following caption:

"It's all true! Day One shooting Three From Hell! The murder and madness continues. #robzombie #sherimoonzombie #billmoseley #thedevilsrejects"

Back in October, Bloody Disgusting reported that Zombie was working on a "follow-up" movie to The Devil's Rejects, which itself is a follow-up to House of 1000 Corpses. Early this year, Bloody Disgusting also reported that the new movie could potentially have the title The Devil's Rejects 2: Three From Hell, so based on these previous reports, it sounds like 3 From Hell will be a sequel to 2005's The Devil's Rejects, which followed the surviving members of the sadistic Firefly family—Otis (Bill Moseley), Captain Spaulding (Sid Haig), and Baby (Sheri Moon Zombie)—as they wreaked havoc on a hellish road trip while on the run from law enforcement.

The title of the new movie also indicates that 3 From Hell is a sequel. As viewers of The Devil's Rejects know (and spoiler warning if you haven't seen it), Otis, Spaulding, and Baby met a brutal end in a barrage of bullets when they drove a 1972 Cadillac Eldorado straight at a well-armed police barricade on the highway (while Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Free Bird" played hauntingly over the scene). If 3 From Hell is a sequel to The Devil's Rejects, then we very well could see the Firefly family trio return from a fiery realm in the afterlife.

We'll have to wait and see what other exciting news Zombie unveils in the coming months, but with his Instagram post mentioning Bill Moseley and Sheri Moon Zombie, it seems like we'll be seeing the return of Otis and Baby, with that third member from Hell likely being Haig's Captain Spaulding (although we'll have to wait for official confirmation before we know for sure).
