We already knew that The Dead 2: India would have its world premiere as the opening film of FrightFest 2013 and now the full lineup has been revealed, including Curse of Chucky, You're Next, and Frankenstein's Army:

"2013 has already been a banner year for Film4 FrightFest. What with our sell-out AMERICAN MARY UK tour and FrightFest Glasgow reaching stunning new capacity heights as the Scottish rendezvous for shock-loving high society, our August Bank Holiday main event in London had better deliver the goods…

So are you ready for an spine-chilling avalanche of Indian zombies, Israeli oldboys, horrific home invasions, vengeance-crazed Vikings, ghostly serial killers, vicious videotapes, liquidised corpses, Swedish mesmerists, mutant armies, Argentine undead, psycho vs. psychos, dead men in black, murderous wagers, crazed Mormons, hellish car journeys, grief tourists, conspiracy theories, human experiments, Barcelona panic, premature burials, Betamax memories, Irish telekinesis, swamp slashing, devil dolls, found footage fears, DIY haunted houses, stoned fairytales, toilets of evil, Chilean assassins, nasty sexual diseases, Countess Dracula, Bigfoot, waspish mania and so much more.

Yes Film4 FrightFest returns for its 14th stellar edition to the Empire Leicester Square in the dark heart of London’s glittering West End. This year we have 4 venues showing the cream of the screams gathered from all parts of the globe – the main Empire 1 auditorium, two Discovery Screens and the new addition of the FrightFest Extra strand in Screen 2 where you will be able to catch up with any sold-out performances of our most popular attractions.

Fourteen years down the line from our seminal start in 2000, the ambitions of the Film4 FrightFest remain exactly the same: to promote horror and fantasy in all its rich and varied ways, to foster the latest in world genre cinema, to highlight our vibrant home-grown independent sector and to invite an international array of directors, actors and filmmakers to discuss their work. For that reason we have remained at the vanguard of the genre and are thrilled this year to be presenting over ten world premieres, five European premieres, a record twenty-three UK premieres and a host of English premieres and previews.

The world premieres include our opening night attraction THE DEAD 2: INDIA from the Ford Brothers featuring a stand-out performance from British actor Joseph Millson, BANSHEE CHAPTER produced by STAR TREK’s Zachary Quinto, Christoph Behl Argentinean apocalyptic THE DECENT, Kit Ryan’s startling DEMENTAMANIA, ANTISOCIAL and the retro Spanish chiller FOR ELISA. European premieres include Don Mancini’s CURSE OF CHUCKY, Anthony Di Blasi’s MISSIONARY, Steven R. Monroe’s I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE 2 and Christian James’ STALLED. The UK premieres feature our closing night film, the most want-to-see 2013 title BIG BAD WOLVES, Jim Mickle’s WE ARE WHAT WE ARE, Vincenzo Natali’s HAUNTER, Ryuhei Kitamura’s NO ONE LIVES, Lasse Hallstrom’s THE HYPNOTIST, the Pastor Brothers’ THE LAST DAYS, the VHS documentary REWIND THIS!, Bobcat Goldthwait’s WILLOW CREEK, producer Adam Green’s HATCHET III and the acclaimed anthology V/H/S/2. Keynote previews include THE GRIEF TOURIST starring Michael Cudlitz and Melanie Griffith, and Juan Carlos Medina’s award-winning PAINLESS.

The ever-growing FrightFest audience knows we will always give them the want-to-see crowd-pleasers they expect too. So sit back and thrill to the roof-raising YOU’RE NEXT, the incredible CHEAP THRILLS, the mutant-tastic FRANKENSTEIN’S ARMY and a Special Preview of the Hollywood blockbuster R.I.P.D. starring Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges. And because our discerning audience demanded it, one of our mega February FrightFest Glasgow draws is being repeated at this main event – the fabulously trashy grindhouser BRING ME THE HEAD OF THE MACHINE GUN WOMAN.

The genre knows no boundaries and no lack of diversity. Our record-breaking massive line-up is a reflection of that ethos and also in our selection of top British films. Aside from the aforementioned THE DEAD 2: INDIA, DEMENTAMANIA and STALLED there’s IN FEAR, HAMMER OF THE GODS, ON TENDER HOOKS, PARANORMAL DIARIES: CLOPHILL, OUTPOST: RISE OF THE SPETSNAZ and THE BORDERLANDS to prove the British Film Industry is in fine form in the nerve-jangling department.

Nor must we forget out restored and unexpurgated retro line-up, this year an eclectic mix of an Ozploitation classic  - WAKE IN FRIGHT, a tribute to Hammer Horror icon Peter Cushing – CORRUPTION, the first Roger Corman Edgar Allan Poe masterpiece – THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER, and the genre landmark that is F. W. Murnau’s NOSFERATU.

With Andy Nyman’s ever-popular ‘Quiz From Hell’ now in its 4th record breaking year, the announcement of the winners in our ‘666 Short Cuts To Hell’ competition, the ‘Turn Off Your Bloody Phone!’ entries and all the stars, directors and surprises you’ve come to expect, Film4 FrightFest 14 is more than happy to take on the set double challenge. To be the best promotional platform in the UK for showcasing genre talent and broadening audience horizons; and to strongly endorse this firm commitment - to remain at the summit of shock and be a beacon for chiller culture with one consistent voice passionately proclaiming the UK’s creativity, industry and renown in the horror fantasy world.

There's more to come when we announce our guests, but that's for anther day.

Team FrightFest."
