We recently shared details on Artik, a film following a serial killer who loves comics, sunflower farming, his family, and most likely killing. Now, we have a new featurette for the movie eyeing a theatrical and streaming release in the near future. We also have details on What Still Remains and Parlour Tricks.

Watch the New Artik Featurette: "Comic Book fandom meets Punk Rock with a bloody twist in new horror thriller, ARTIK.

The story centers around a family-run sunflower farm, where comic-book obsessed serial killer Artik (Jerry G. Angelo), his life partner Flin (Lauren Ashley Carter), and their family of foster kids are on the hunt for the ultimate comic-book hero. Until Holton (Chase Williamson), an Al-Anon attending straight edge, punk purist, comes between them.

Artik is writer/director Tom Botchii’s feature film debut and marks the first joint release from TLG Motion Pictures and Have Not Films. It was produced by Fire Born Studios and will follow their early 2018 release Warfighter.

Indie horror favorites, Chase Williamson (John Dies at the End, SiREN, The Guest), Lauren Ashley Carter, (Jug Face, Darling, The Women), and Matt Mercer (Contracted, Contracted: Phase II and Beyond the Gates) join Jerry G. Angelo (Fright Night, Warfighter) and Gavin White (14 Cameras), to round out the cast.

Release-wise we are heading to festivals first this Summer, with a limited theatrical run after and then we hope to move into streaming/VOD."

When a lonely traveler offers her a place in his community, she must decide if the promise of a better life is worth the risk of trusting him. But as she ventures out into a world she’s never known, she discovers there are far more dangers than the legends of savage beasts from her childhood. Numerous factions of humanity still endure and she will learn people can become their own kind of monster.

What Still Remains stars Lulu Antariksa (T@gged), Colin O'Donoghue (Once Upon a Time), Mimi Rogers (The X-Files), Dohn Norwood (Hell on Wheels), and Jeff Kober (The Walking Dead). It was written and directed by Josh Mendoza.

About the Author - Tamika Jones

Tamika hails from North Beach, Maryland, a tiny town inches from the Chesapeake Bay.She knew she wanted to be an actor after reciting a soliloquy by Sojourner Truth in front of her entire fifth grade class. Since then, she's appeared in over 20 film and television projects. In addition to acting, Tamika is the Indie Spotlight manager for Daily Dead, where she brings readers news on independent horror projects every weekend.

The first horror film Tamika watched was Child's Play. Being eight years old at the time, she remembers being so scared when Chucky came to life that she projectile vomited. It's tough for her to choose only one movie as her favorite horror film, so she picked two: Nosferatu and The Stepford Wives (1975).
