THE CARNIVORES: "Alice and Bret’s dog Harvie is dying, and he’s ruining everything. What had been a bright little family is quickly being consumed by clouds of self-doubt, suspicion, and a disturbing amount of ground beef. Bret (Lindsay Burdge) is taking the news hard. She's had Harvie since before the relationship and is startled to find just how much of her sense of self is wrapped up in her history with him. Alice (Tallie Medel) thus finds herself on the outside of a relationship looking in. Bret's obsession with the dog is getting overtly unhealthy, yet the more Alice attempts to connect, the further Bret retreats.

As the stress on Alice, a vegan, manifests in increasingly strange ways involving sleepwalking and a fascination with meat, she plans to get rid of Harvie to reclaim Bret’s love. But when Alice wakes one night holding an empty leash with no sign of Harvie except his severed ear, she begins to fear she's become a monster. As each woman sets out in search of what's been lost, Alice and Bret uncover parts of each other they never suspected, hideous and beautiful alike."

MICROPHONES & MONSTERS: "Microphones & Monsters is created by Adam Culbertson (Game Master and also me), and my players Richard Collins, Max Steele, and Steven Sides. I decided to create the world we play in using Sandy Petersen’s Cthulhu Mythos 5e, to make a cosmic horror mystery setting in a usually high fantasy, heavy combat rule set. Due to the nature of Lovecraftian horror the show is heavy role-play but still has combat. With Improvised group storytelling, the story could go any direction at any time.

The setting begins in a 1920s era with fantasy races and magically enhanced technology that matches and sometimes surpasses the times. Two of the players are playing a Dreamlands Cat Warlock, and a Mythos Ghoul Monk (we call them Crypt-Folk). The other is playing a Chemist/Artificer Human Doctor. There is a nice combination of humor, mystery, and uneasiness that is always throwing the characters off and pushing the boundaries of their comprehension and limits. It is not your typical D&D game. Each episode is short for an Actual Play podcast at 30-45 minutes, easily bingeable, and releases twice a week during a season. We also have an amazing lineup of Lovecraftian themed music to bring the settings to life.

When I pitched the game to the players, I called it “Fantasy X-Files with Eldritch Horrors that will take a toll on their mind”. Since beginning, there have been many moments where the players, not just the characters, have been horrified. Through feedback, the listeners have had similar reactions. Even those that have not been into this genre of storytelling or eldritch horror, have enjoyed our story focused approach to the game.

We have 2 seasons out at the time of writing this, at 116 episodes. There are also discussion episodes we call “MIcrophones & Morons” where we take a relaxed and fun approach to recapping each month’s episodes, and drop any news for the listeners instead of taking time up from the story episodes to cater to the binge. Season 3 will return on August 2nd 2021. If you catch up during the in-between seasons downtime, we are releasing a weekly "Microphones & Memories", highlighting favorite scenes of ours and the listener's.

We hope you join us as the characters, who are as much of a mystery as the ones they are chasing, are driven to madness.

OPEN YOUR EYES: "In a rush to complete an overdue screenplay, a writer’s past explodes into the present and his world begins to unravel in Open Your Eyes. This suspenseful thriller stars Ry Barrett (‘The Heretics’, ‘Still the Water’) and Joanna Saul (‘Limited’, ‘Overlord’) and takes you on a journey equal parts horrific and mysterious. Open Your Eyes is available on VOD, DVD & Blu-Ray June 1 2021.

In Open Your Eyes, Jason Miller (Ry Barrett) dives head first into his newest screenplay in an attempt to avoid dealing with a traumatic experience. With his mental state teetering on the edge, he meets Lisa (Joanna Saul), his neighbor from down the hall, and a relationship begins to form. As he becomes more intrigued with Lisa, Jason continues to burn the midnight oil to finish his script, strange and mysterious things begin to happen, causing him to question everything. With his mind unravelling and his life spinning out of control, Jason struggles to hold onto the one thing he wants most, hope.

Written and directed by Greg A. Sager (‘Devil Seed’, ‘Kingdom Come’) Open Your Eyes is a genre-bending blend of thriller, mystery, drama, and horror. The film was produced by Sager and Gary Elmer, with Elmer also acting as the Director of Photography."
