Night Visions Film Fest Spring 2017 Lineup Announced: Press Release: "Night Visions International Film Festival announced the Official Selection of its April 2017 edition today. The spring edition of Scandinavia's biggest genre film festival takes place in Helsinki, Finland from April 19th to April 23rd, 2017. The complete lineup includes a total of 31 feature films and a selection of carefully hand-picked shorts.

One of the headliner themes of the festival, Killer Female Directors section features a trio of international festival hits and two strong genre outings from Scandinavia. Alice Lowe's pitch black comedy Prevenge (UK 2016), Julia Ducournau's Raw (France/Belgium 2016) and the omnibus hit XX (USA/Canada 2017) will all have their Finnish premieres now in Helsinki. Jonna Nilsson's Drip Drop (Sweden 2017) is an original take on the monster in the house theme. Charlotte Brodthagen's Lau & Laudrup (Denmark 2017), one of NightVisions World Premieres, is a story of two Bosnian immigrant siblings in the midst of a zombie outbreak somewhere outside Copenhagen.

The Mentors: Kings of Sleze Rockumentary (USA 2017) also fits the bill of Killer Female Directors, though its director April Jones is not dealing with fiction. This Night Visions World Premiere provides an in-depth, feature-length look at the infamous "rape rock" group of nearly mythical proportions.

Other highlights of the festival's documentary selection include Marty Langford's Doomed! The Untold Story of Roger Corman's The Fantastic Four (USA 2016), Alexandre O. Philippe's Sundance hit 78/52 (USA 2017) and Dominik Graf & Johannes Sievert's Berlin Film Fest Panorama entry Open Wounds - A Journey Through German Genre Films (Germany 2017). All three now have their Scandinavian premieres on the big screen at the festival.

The vibrant genre cinema scene of Argentina is also presented through two Scandinavian premieres. Still Life director Gabriel Grieco's Hypersomnia (2016) is a modern, multi-layered take on the almost forgotten subgenre of women-in-prison movies. Sebastian Perillo's directorial debut Amateur (Argentina 2016) is a unique serial killer thriller with distinctly De Palmaesque flavours.

Among its World Premiere shorts, Night Visions also presents the Nightsatan and the Loops of Doom auteur CHRZU's latest Carlotta Moore adventure The Consequence (Finland 2017), Ramin Sohrab's highly anticipated action extravaganza Viulu (Finland 2017) and the H.P. Lovecraft inspired Sound from the Deep (Finland 2017), directed by Joonas Allonen and Antti Laakso.

On the retro side, one of the definite highlights of the lineup includes a retrospective of the legendary U.S. genre filmmaker Gary Sherman. Sherman's Death Line (a.k.a. Raw Meat, UK 1972), Dead & Buried (USA 1981) and Vice Squad (USA/UK 1982) are all now seen for the first time ever in their uncut form on the silver screen in Finland.

Jurassic Games Production Details: Press Release: "Los Angeles, California: Galen Christy’s High Octane Pictures, in association with the Oklahoma Film + Music Office (OF+MO), have kicked off production on Ryan Bellgardt’s Jurassic Games.

Starring Ryan Merriman (Final Destination 3) and Perry Reeves (Entoutrage), the film imagines a world set in the near future wherein ten Death Row convicts are chosen to compete in The Jurassic Games, the ultimate virtual reality game show that pits its players against dinosaurs and each other. However, there is a catch… If you die in the virtual, you also die in reality; and for Anthony Tucker (Adam Hampton), survival is his one chance to be reunited with his children after having been wrongfully imprisoned for the murder of his wife. As the devious The Host continues adding improbable challenges, the characters will find the odds stacked against them as only one victor can emerge as a winner and reclaim their freedom.

The Jurassic Games is the third film from Emmy Award-winning director Bellgardt, whose highly anticipated creature feature Gremlin will be released this Summer.

Says “High Octane Pictures is very excited to be back in business with Ryan Bellgardt – unarguably one of the most talented new filmmakers in the business. The Jurassic Games is a very exciting concept – it’s part Hunger Games, part Jurassic Park… and just a hell of a lot of fun. With Bellgardt behind the camera and the fantastic cast we’ve lined up for the film, it’s definitely a movie for film fans to anticipate. It’s gonna be dino-mite.”

High Octane Pictures upcoming credits include buzzed-about horror title Clowntergeist, out mid-year, and high concept science-fictioner The Answer."

Watch the Trailer for Short Film Home Education: From director Andrea Niada: "'Home Education' is my graduation film from The London Film School.

It is the result of a year of uninterrupted work. Starting with a feature script, which we are currently developing and planning on shooting next year. We worked on narrowing the story down to something which would function as a short film, as well as giving the sense of a much larger world inhabited by the characters. The crew worked tirelessly at this, creating most of what you see from scratch, from the clothes worn by the characters to the decor, which helps give the film a very unique and distinctive quality.
